For this week, I am using The Shaman’s Oracle by John Matthews and Wil Kingham.
East (Air) – What do we need to search for or explore this week?
Our card is the Shaman of Song. We need to explore how singing can bring healing to others, harmony to ourselves, and bring us closer to Spirit. We all have a song that helps us transcend time, mood, and place. For those of us who are not singers, we can sing with our hearts.
South (Fire) – How can we grow this week?
Our card is the Spirit of Family. We need to open our eyes and recognize the spiritual family that is always around us. Everything has a spirit (animism), and we derive from the same source. Everything is the physical manifestation of the spiritual. The animal and plant kingdom are our kin, and we should respect them as well as our ancestors.
West (Water) – What are we gathering or harvesting this week?
Our card is the Shaman of Foresight. We need to develop the ability to see beyond the moment and prepare for every eventuality. Foresight not only keeps us safe but helps us see beyond the physical.
North (Earth) – What do we need to repair or heal this week?
Our card is the Spirit of Love. The power of love is everywhere and transcends everything it touches. We need to heal our understanding of love and our acceptance of love. When we love deeply, in return, we will feel love.
The theme for the week is getting in touch with the transformative spirits in daily life. As nature-based spiritualists, we need to get in touch with the genius loci (spirits of place) and the spirits of our ancestors. They are our teachers and guides if we are open and willing to listen to them.
